Topic:	The SEI Performance Benchmarking Consortium
Speaker:	Michael Bragen

Abstract

As chairperson of the specification working group for the SEI PBC, Michael Bragen will describe the formation, objectives, and progress made by the Consortium to date, and will share results of recent studies conducted by the SEI in support of this effort. He will also provide some background on the SPR methodology for software performance benchmarking.

About the Speaker

Michael Bragen is a Managing Partner of Software Productivity Research, LLC. A software industry analyst, author, and consultant, Mr. Bragen has 24 years of experience in the fields of strategic management for information systems, and software engineering.

In his role as Director of Product Management for SPR, Mr. Bragen has primary responsibility for design, product direction, and marketing of KnowledgePLAN®, the latest in SPR’s line of estimation tools originated by founder Capers Jones.

As a software engineering metrics specialist, Mr. Bragen has maintained a Certified Function Point Specialist certification continuously since 1992, and is active in the International Function Point Users Group, and associated metrics and measurement discussion organizations.
